Edwin the Pixie!

We don’t see a lot of naughty pixies at Hunter Ridge anymore since Grandma started teaching the pixies manners, but every once in a while you will find one still wearing the trademark “naughty pixie” red tights.  Edwin is naughty in deed!  He pulled some of Grandpa’s eyelashes out (ouch!) when he fell asleep on the porch swing! When Grandpa and Grandma tried to scold him, he stuck his tiny fingers in his mouth, pulled his cheeks in an awful frown, and stuck out his tongue!

Faery Haven Manor

Front of manor after I tore the moss off.

Years ago, I bought a dollhouse on clearance for about $20, hoping to transform it into a beautiful fairy manor to display my fairies.  Well, at the time, I evidently didn’t understand how to blend paint or I was just being lazy, but I concocted quite a mess.  The once pale blue three story house with rich blue shingles, was now a sickly brown disaster with bright green and white accents sloppily painted over it.  I also had the bright idea of adding real moss to the roof, which turned brown within a month and started flaking off.  So, needless to say, the house has sat in my basement for a few years collecting dust, with the notion that I would someday “fix it up”.  Well, I’ve finally decided that that time has come!  I’ll be posting pics of the renovations periodically, and hopefully posting this on the web will give me incentive to finish it!  Ideas are welcome!

Bells…

I recently found Bells, the pixie at Hunter Ridge.  Bells loves to dance and even though the naughty pixies tease her about having big feet (even for a pixie!)  She doesn’t care and goes right about her merry way dancing atop the moss that grows on the stones of the old garden.
