"Viola the Flower Faery"
By Sarah J. Arruda
Faery Haven

Deep in the forest they call Hunter Ridge is a sanctuary for the believers and fair folk alike.  This is a place where only the true of heart may enter the Great Oak which beholds the doorway to Faery Haven...

"Viola" is completely hand sculpted from polymer clay over a wire armature with no use of molds.

She is highly detailed, with individually sculpted fingernails and even tiny wrinkles in her feet.  Her body has been sculpted in a natural position, lending to her gentle and realistic look.  Her costume is made from light colorful fabrics and adorned with tiny flower beads around her waist.  Her body has been left the natural color of the clay, with hints of blush to create a realistic skin tone.  Her fingernails have been sculpted one by one from clay, then applied to each tiny finger.

Viola has lovely facial features that have been hand painted.
Her eyes are many colors of violet, applied one thin coat at a time to create the illusion of depth. Viola's wings are made from flexible polymer clay and wire. They have been tinted to reflect the tiny bits of teal in her dress.  Her wings also have tiny flowers that have been baked into them.

She has real eyelashes that compliment her lavender Tibetan Lamb hair. .
She is very tiny, not quite 3 inches high, and about 5 inches long. Viola comes with her own certificate of authenticity, which contains a color photo of her, her number of creation, and the artist's signature....

Faeries resemble humans much more than other groups of wee folk.  Though they may look humanistic, they have an other worldly quality.  They are often delicate both in appearance and attitude.  There are faeries for many things in nature, such as Frost Faeries, Dewdrop Faeries, Autumn Faeries, Flower Faeries, Dark Faeries, House Faeries, and Forest Faeries, just to name a few.  Faeries are fierce nature lovers, vain, hard working, mischievous, fun loving, and mirror all spectrums of the human personality.
