A House Brownie
By Sarah J. Arruda
Faery Haven

Deep in the forest they call Hunter Ridge is a sanctuary for the believers and fair folk alike.  This is a place where only the true of heart may enter the Great Oak which beholds the doorway to Faery Haven...

Twig is an adorable little brownie who loves clean tables!  She doesn't like to use mops or brooms because she doesn't think they get the tables clean enough, so she likes to use a brush!  She doesn't want any of her human family eating on a dirty table!

Brownies are a brownish colored wee folk that aid humans in household chores.  They have black eyes, tattered clothes, and have so little of a nose that it appears to be just nostrils.  They do chores for their human family at night while the rest of the family sleeps.  They will stay at a home indefinitely, as long as they are not offended.  Reward your Brownie with gifts of cake and cream, but never leave him new clothes, no matter how tattered his may look.  One sight of the new clothes and the Brownie will go into a fit of rage, offended by the gesture.  He will leave the house immediately and never return.  Also never criticize a Brownie's work, as this too will cause the Brownie to leave, but not before he makes a mess of things.  A Brownie is protective of his home and is good for keeping those pesky goblins away.

Twig is hand sculpted from polymer clay.  Her wings are a flexible polymer and very translucent.  Her stockings are painted from artist quality heat set paints.  She wears a tiny real acorn cap adorned with tiny glass marbles.  She is about 3 1/2 inches to the top of her cap.  She is highly detailed and even has hand sculpted fingernails that have been applied one by one.  Her little brush has also been sculpted from polymer clay.  Twig's hair is tibetan lamb and her dress is made from faux leather.
