"Taffy the Cupcake"

Faery Haven

Deep in the forest they call Hunter Ridge is a sanctuary for the believers and fair folk alike.  This is a place where only the true of heart may enter the Great Oak which beholds the doorway to Faery Haven...

This auction is for a little Cupcake (Sallow Brownie) named Taffy. She may appear to be sweet and innocent, but I assure you she is quite naughty. She is very prone to breaking dishes, especially hot chocolate mugs. Taffy and the other Sallow Brownies love sweets and will break any thing that gets in their way; so if you have treats hidden in fine dishes... beware. You may find yourself cleaning up a mess. Taffy would be about 5 1/2 inches high if standing.

The Cupcake AKA The Sallow Brownie These little wee folk were initially discovered by an inn keeper’s wife during the 16th century. The tale is told that as the wife was baking pastries she noticed a tiny little creature dipping its hands into her icing. The creature resembled her little Brownie helpers, but was pale in color. For lack of a better name, she called him a “Sallow Brownie.” He was adorned in lovely pastel colors of pinks, purples, and greens, and had a fluffy bit of hair on his head that seemed to have a mind of its own. The keeper’s wife thought that the little creature was an abnormal Brownie and felt sorry for it. She gave him some cream and honey, and went on with her baking. A bit later, she noticed that the cherries she had picked for the top of her muffins were missing. She looked at the corner of her table to see the Brownie crawling down the side of the table with cherries tied to his back. She grabbed him and put him on the top of the table. She pointed her finger as to scold him, and at that moment, he leaped at her and bit her finger! The Brownie ran off into the darkness. The next morning the inn keeper’s wife woke to find her kitchen in shambles. Broken dishes, crumbs, and tiny footprints were all that was left. The Sallow Brownie had taken all of her sweets. The Sallow Brownie, also known as a Cupcake (they have a sweet, innocent look, always wear pastel colors and are attracted to sweets) looks very much like a pale version of their Brownie cousin. Please be aware that despite their innocent look, they are quite naughty! They are not helpful like their cousins, and WILL bite! They have sharp little teeth and pointed fingers. They are quite troublesome, as they will break things just to hear the sound of it shattering, and they will take anything in your house that they are able to carry that tastes sweet or is pastel in color. There are only two ways to get rid of them: Invite Brownies into your home to capture them then take them and dump them in a hollow tree during a full moon. Or… bake them into your cupcakes, lol.

All Faery Haven sculptures are PURE SCULPTS.  This means they are completely hand sculpted WITHOUT any use of molds.  They each start out as a lump of clay that is formed solely by the hands of the artist.  Each is its own unique being.
