"
Dewey" By Sarah J. Arruda Faery Haven Original Sculptures ![]() ![]() This little guy is a pixie named Dewey. He is very sweet and loves to decorate his red cap with berries and other findings. He is always giving his outfits that extra touch. He likes humans and all material things humans collect. He likes to "trade" with his unknowing human friends, by taking ribbons, buttons, and anything else loose and small enough for him to carry. He calls this trading because he always leaves some berries or acorns in its place. Dewey is a Pure Sculpt, meaning that he was completely hand sculpted by the artist without the use of molds. He is sculpted from polymer clay built over a wire armature for strength. His skin has been left the natural color of the clay, with subtle hints of blush for a realistic skin tone. Dewey has wild pumpkin colored wool hair that has been applied lock by lock. ![]() Dewey is a highly detailed sculpture, with special attention to even the smallest of things, like fingernails and creases in the skin. Dewey is about 2 1/2 inches high, and about 3 1/2 inches to the tip of his hat. ![]() Dewey is #6 in the Pixie Collection ![]() ![]() Faery Haven Info: All sculptures are created one of a kind without any use of molds by artist Sarah J. Arruda. This means that no two sculptures that I create will look the same. Each is its own unique being. I pay special attention to the little details in my sculptures from the fingernails and toenails, to the wrinkles in their feet. It is a
multi-step process to achieve the little beings the public sees. For
example, after they have been sculpted, I paint their facial features on,
hand dye their hair and design and fabricate their costume. I thoroughly
enjoy each step of the process and thus inspires me to create more!
